EPICentre Wave Generator First to Recreate 2004 Tsunami
The Tsunami Generator at H. R. Wallingford is the first to recreate a trough-led wave, tsunami waves that drain water from beaches on approach and which were responsible for the devastation seen in the Boxing Day Tsunami of 2004. Tiziana Rossetto (Director of the EPICentre) spoke to New Scientist and “Wired” about the pioneering work that looks to increase our understanding of such tsunami.
